| Model Patent Jury Instructions |
Members of the patent bar cooperated in simplifying and updating the Association's model patent jury instructions. The perspective was broad based. Contributors included litigators who defend and/or enforce patents, judges, former law clerks and professors. The goal was to offer a comprehensive resource for practitioners, and instructions that jurors would readily understand as written in "plain English". This set of instructions is intended to be a useful starting point for any issue that may arise in connection with a jury charge. Judges and lawyers who use these instructions will need to tailor and/or supplement them to take into account the facts and issues of their particular case.
